PECAN BURGER

An easy vegetarian recipe

This pecan burger recipe is a take on the traditional oat burger recipe. I hate cooking with walnuts, so I usually substitute pecans for walnuts in anything I make.

It has a delicious flavor and, who would have thought, my finicky son likes this burger, surprise!

It’s a simple vegetarian recipe that’s easy to make.

In a bowl combine:

  • 1 cup of quick oats
  • 1 cup of ground whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1 cup of pecan meal (ground pecans)
  • ½ TBS of food yeast flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ to 1 tsp of sea salt – optional
  • ¾ tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of Bakon – hickory smoke style seasoning
  • 1 tsp of Sweet Basil

Mix together then add:

½ cup of minced onion sauted in about a 1 TBS of olive oil 1 TBS of soy sauce Add just enough hot water to bind together (about ½ to 1 cup)

Cook in a frying pan on low to medium heat. Use a non-stick spray.

This easy vegetarian recipe makes approximately 6 pecan burgers.
