The Master Cleanse

The master cleanser is a juice fast detoxification diet. The diet can also function as a detoxification weight loss program.



The master cleanse is a method of detoxification naturally developed by Stanley Burroughs.

His book describes the function of detoxification and how diseases can be corrected by the process including directions for diabetics to get off insulin. It includes a testimony by Herman Schneider who tried the diet as a solution to his blood pressure being 200 over 120. It also tells how the diet came about as a remedy to Bob Norman’s ulcer that he suffered with for almost three years.

The first time I tried this juice fast detoxification diet I mixed up a big batch, took one sip and threw the rest away.

Cayenne (capsicum) is one of the ingredients in this liquid diet. If you are not familiar with cayenne it is hot, however it is a good healing herb. Once I discovered the healing properties of the herb I tried the fast again. You get use to the heat.

The diet is also a detoxification weight loss program, since it dissolves and eliminates all types of fatty tissue. Fat is said to melt away at the rate of about two pounds a day for most persons, and without any harmful side effects.

The diet itself is simply: 2 Tablespoons of lemon or lime juice (fresh squeezed) 2 Tablespoons of real maple syrup 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne (or to taste) Spring or purified water to fill a 10 oz glass (preferably medium hot)

The book describes the benefits of the ingredients in the diet, how much to drink, how to help the cleansing along (i.e. herbal laxatives), and how to break the diet.

The book also gives directions on body detoxification and cleansing using internal salt water bathing, which I have used myself with successful results.

The problem with the Master Cleanse is it’s suppose to be followed for a minimum of 10 days up to 40 days. Most people probably do not make it past 7 days. I have varied from 3 to 7 days.

The need to go the minimum 10 days would depend on why you are cleansing; are you sick, do you have a disease, or do you just want to lose weight? The Master Cleanse Secrets newsletter and e-book give tricks and techniques on getting past the roadblocks, so one can make the 10 day minimum mark.

Hmmm I think I’m in need of another cleanse.
