God first allowed people to eat meat after the flood. Before the flood began animals were taken into the ark. The clean animals were taken into the ark seven of each kind and the unclean by two of each kind. Genesis 7:2, 3, 8,
The flood destroyed every living substance. Genesis 7:23 And God made the animals to be meat for mankind. Genesis 9:2-3
However, they were not to eat the blood. Genesis 9: 4 Although God allowed mankind to eat clean meat, they were not to eat meat with the blood in it, they were first to drain the blood. Deuteronomy 12: 16, 23 -25
This command “not to eat the blood” was not just for the Jews. Noah and his family were not Jews or Israelites. The command was also for the stranger among the Jews. Leviticus 17:10 - 14
